Who We Are
Our Mission and Vision
Woman to Woman Kentuckiana is a community of women who seek belonging, self-expression, personal truth and value, and support you in empowering your authentic self. We believe in the innate potential for all women to be in genuine connection with one another, healing and transforming the world and ourselves. Through integrity, accountability, compassion and love, we commit our community and resources to support this vision.
Who Are We?
We are community of women who seek authenticity. We've created a place where we can show up as we are - and be seen and heard as we are. Our lives continue to be transformed and healed as we gather together to support one another.
We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization run by an all volunteer Board of Directors and Guide Circle.

We sometimes partner with The Mankind Project, an organization for men that is similar to Woman to Woman International.
How did Woman to Woman Kentuckian begin?
In 1993, the Woman to Woman Kentuckiana dream was born when six Louisville women traveled to the Island of Delavan, Wisconsin to attend a Woman Within Training Weekend. The experience was so powerful that it ignited the hope for bringing the Weekend closer to Kentucky for more local participation. The idea that as one person heals, the world heals was the concept that these pioneer women held in sacred patience as the Vision Keepers.
Between the years of 1993 and 1999, more Kentucky women participated in Weekend Trainings in other states. The Vision Keepers created a way to keep women connected in the Louisville and Lexington areas through circles of support called Empowerment Circles. Skills based Empowerment Circle trainings were offered by women who were called Guides. Women learned the empowering use of language, how to take self-responsibility and found wisdom in being supported in a safe and loving environment.
The Midwest region began to expand its offerings. In 1999, Indiana’s IN Our Circle hosted its initial Woman Within Weekend and St. Louis also began hosting the Trainings. At last, the Weekend experience was within geographic reach and women from Lexington, Louisville and southern Indiana participated in greater numbers.
Woman to Woman Kentuckiana flourished and formalized its structure. The Leadership Circle expanded to attend to growth initiatives and ongoing needs of Empowerment Circles. As part of embracing the Woman Within mission, the Kentuckiana Community, now officially named Woman to Woman Kentuckiana, honored graduates of the Woman Within Weekend with an annual Celebration Ceremony. Family and friends joined in understanding how the lives of women were changing.
Woman to Woman Kentuckiana hosted its first Woman Within Weekend in October 2002. Over 50 women applied to staff and there was a waiting list for first time participants.
Each year since that landmark 2002 Weekend, the Kentuckiana Community has hosted an annual Woman Within Weekend. Numerous on-going Empowerment Circles for graduates have thrived. Guided Wisdom Circles were offered as a way to meet others in a Circle setting. However, women in the Leadership Circle knew there was more to do. It was time to find more opportunities for women to be a part of the Kentuckiana Community.
In 2006, a new generation of leaders came together with the original “grandmothers." The result was the opportunity for women in addition to Woman Within graduates to join the experience of support and Community. The Empowerment Circle Training was revised and reintroduced. This time it was open to any woman and the mission of this Community was unveiled – Woman to Woman Kentuckiana is a community of women who stand with you to support and empower your authentic self.
In 2014, Woman to Woman Kentuckiana, Inc. became a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity.
The dream of Woman to Woman Kentuckiana continues to unfold and grow as each woman chooses to step into her journey to find healing and support, empowerment and authenticity.
